Like many others of similar shape that have been found, this "OOPART" (Out of Place Artifact) has been attributed to a local native culture called Tolimas who lived there between 300 B.C. and 1550 A.D. and was believed to be the reproduction of an insect.

Some experts have said that even though their designs do not appear to have a "power plant", these objects meet technical specs for modern military aircraft.

The word "Quimbaya" in our title serves only as a reference to facilitate your search results, as some people have mistakenly attributed that culture as the makers of these artifacts.

The chain by itself is 18" (52 mm) long and weighs 9 grams, and the pendant measures 1-1/32" (29 mm) in length by 1" (25 mm) in width and weighs 5 grams.

And no, these replicas are NOT made in China!  These pins are made from galvanized PEWTER, plated in 24k gold and lacquered to shine and protect, so as they age they will maintain their shine and appearance.
