Характеристики

You are bidding on a neat little Chest of Drawers,  Doll Chest, Salesman Sample, Miniature 3 drawer Chest.  It is made of predominately cherry wood sides, top, back splash all 4 feet.  the front styles are walnut, while the rails and drawer are pine.  the front except for the 2 side posts are veneered in mahogany.  This was a common train in the late empire period.  Chest has its original finish which is remarkably intact.
The chest is dated around the 1880's.  There are small square nails that you can see.  The drawers are glued with no nails that I can see.
The 3 drawers are pine with a slightly figured mahogany veneer.  You can see circular saw marks.  Top drawer is 3 1/4, second is 2 3/4, bottom drawer is 2  3/8.  All approximate.  Secondary wood is pine as far as I can tell. Knobs are walnut and doweled into the drawer fronts.
The chest dimensions are as follows...  Case is 5 1/4 deep  x 9 1/4 tall x 9  wide.  Lid  is 5 3/8 x 9 1/2.  Condition is fabulous with only minor wear and handling scuffs consistent with its age.  There is one tiny veneer chip on the middle drawer to the left top of the drawer.  Glued repair to teh backsplash. You can see it in the photos. I am dating the chest to about 1880.  Obviously hand made, there are some remnants of saw marks on the drawer bottoms.
If you are looking at this, you know just how rare these little chests are, especially of this age.
