Instructions for use:

It is required to do a test run of heating oxalic acid to determine the time of sublimation. Fill vaporizer with desired amount of oxalic, 1/4 teaspoon per brood chamber but no more than 1/2 teaspoon, and connect to battery. Time how long it takes for the oxalic to sublimate and make a note, 4-5 minutes depending on the battery. Unplug after all the oxalic has sublimated or 5 minutes has elapsed. Let the vaporizer cool for 5 minutes to prevent over heating. Make sure all honey supers are removed from the hive or separated by a non permeable barrier between the honey supers and the brood chamber. Use 1/4 teaspoon of oxalic acid per brood box of bees. Place correct amount of oxalic acid in the dish on the vaporizer and put into hive entrance. Make sure bottom board is in the hive. Seal the entrance of the hive with a cloth and connect vaporizer to 12 volt battery source usually a car or lawn mower battery. Disconnect from the battery after the determined sublimation time. Leave the hive sealed for ten minutes and then remove cloth from the entrance. Oxalic should be used for three consecutive weeks to kill mites that have been below the caps and is best used in times when the hive is broodless (Early winter, newer queen, or after a swarm). Always do a mite count to confirm mite kill after treatment.
