GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR A PIECE OF HISTORY

CELEBRATE 40 YEARS OF APPLE CORPORATION IN STYLE

great MACINTOSH set!!!

EARLY SERIES APPLE MACINTOSH

MANUFACTURED 12TH WEEK OF 1984

WITH MATCHING & RARE VERSION OF THE ORIGINAL APPLE BAG

AND LOTS OF EXTRAS, INCLUDING SOFTWARE!

A WORKING MODEL!!!!

HERE'S WHY THIS IS A GREAT OFFER:

(SEE ALSO THE WEALTH OF PICTURES!)

The Macintosh ensemble

1. An original, nicely preserved Apple Macintosh ensemble.

2. The four pieces of the ensemble are time correct (which in itself is quite rare to find):

     - The Mac itself was made in the 12th week of 1984

     - The keyboard was also made in the 12th week of 1984

     - The mouse was made in the 9th week of 1984

     - The authentic Apple bag was made early 1984

3. This Mac was amongst the first Macintosh computers sold to the public in 1984, now more than 30 years ago.

4. This Macintosh also has the signatures of the Macintosh development team imprinted on the back of the Macintosh, at the inside (see the picture). Including the signatures of Steve Jobs, Bill Atkinson, Andy Hertzfeld, Jef Raskin and the rest of the historic team (to be clear - these are signatures imprinted in the casing, i.e. manufactured like that). Steve Jobs decided to include these signatures not visible from the outside as a signature of their work of art. Indeed, for them this was not just a computer but a piece of art. And you sign a piece of art, so...

5. The Mac works beautifully - see the pictures! And the included game too!

6. The Mac is also cosmetically in great shape.

7. Original L-shaped Apple original power cord is included. It also shows the Apple logo (see pictures).

8. The authentic Macintosh bag is quite special since it is of the series of the brownish/beige color, not the more commonly found greenish type of bag.

9. The Apple Macintosh bag comes with the very rare red "Macintosh" label - with its back never used: there is no home address written on the label, just blank.

10. All of the software (except the guided tour) and manuals are first or second release, some even from 1983, before the Macintosh was officially released end January 1984. See below for the "A" (=first) and "B" versions. Rare to find such a concentration of early releases together.

11. The magazines about Steve Jobs are all in very good condition. Importantly, there is no address label to be found on the magazine covers - you have the full cover as originally designed and sold at the newsstand! These are of higher collector value since there's no address on the cover.

12. This Macintosh set comes with the Premier Issue of MacWorld, Vol 1, number 1 from February 1984. This 144 pages magazine explained the Macintosh to the world. It includes many interviews, also with Bill Gates from Microsoft and of course the Macintosh Development Team. A great read!!!

The magazine also had this unique picture of Steve Jobs with the Macintosh team and a Mac, taken outside the Apple Headquarters. Beautiful flashback with the very young Steve Jobs!!!

Software diskettes, corresponding manuals

13. Authentic "MacWrite - MacPaint: Guided Tour" diskette included (1984, #690-5006-C).

14. Authentic "MacWrite - MacPaint" diskette (1984, #690-5009-B). This diskette serves as startup disk. It also contains a cool game "Missile Command".

15. "A Guided Tour Of MacWrite & MacPaint" audio cassette (1984, #685-0011A/942-0626-A)

16. Original MacWrite manual (1984), in very good condition.

17. Original MacPaint manual (1983(!)), in very good condition.

- very rare - from 1983 --- Note: MacPaint was developed by Bill Atkinson ---

Macintosh protection

18. The Macintosh comes with its Apple bag. Not just a generic bag, but an original from Apple Computer, of the more rare brownish type (not greenish).

a) The zipper closes as well as 30+ years ago.

b) The bag has all 4 original feet (see picture).

c) The inside and outside of the bag are clean with some spots and minor wear (see pictures).

d) The bag has the very rare red "Macintosh" label. Most bags you will find have no longer this label! And if they still have the label then the back is no longer blank as here, but an address is written on it.

Macintosh accessories and sales promotion material

19. Original "Apple" mouse pad, in mint condition.

20. Original "MacWeek" bag from the magazine "MacWeek", in mint condition.

21. "Of the 235 million people in America, only a fraction can use a computer": this was the original Macintosh introduction brochure printed in December 1983, a month before the Macintosh became public. Sixteen pages in this brochure produced by Apple. Also includes a picture of the very young Bill Gates from Microsoft promoting the Apple Macintosh (yes, he did!)(see picture). In very good condition.

Magazines and book about Steve Jobs, the father of the Macintosh

22. "Steve Jobs 1955-2011", TIME magazine issue of 17 October 2011 shortly after Apple co-founder Steve Jobs died. This copy is complete, in very good condition. Importantly, there is no address label on the magazine cover - you have the full cover as originally designed and sold at the newsstand!

23. "Steve Jobs - The Genius Who Changed Our World", TIME magazine commemorative edition issued at the time of Steve Jobs' death in 2011. Hardcover version (!) with 96 pages of text and many, many pictures about the history of Apple. In mint condition. Can't find these in such a neat condition anymore.

24.  "The Steve Jobs Nobody Knew", Rolling Stone magazine issue of 27 October 2011. A great story about Steve Jobs. A complete newsstand copy of the magazine in very good condition (except a very small tear on the back page, bottom right).

25. "Steve Jobs", 627 pages book written by Walter Isaacson in very good condition (dust jacket in good condition). No writings in the book.

This auction includes only:

The items listed.

Cosmetics

Although I do my best to be complete in describing the state of the items please also check the high resolution pictures for your personal detailed assessment. They are part of the description and high resolution so you can amplify them to see details.

The description above already highlighted the state of many items. They are in a very nice condition considering their age. Some might have some minor wear or occasional spots. The Mac unit and the mouse are slightly yellowed, the keyboard visibly less. As you can see in the picture, the original feet of the keyboard have been removed since they were worn out.

There is no writing in the manuals, magazines, or book. The MacWorld magazine has wear on the cover pages - the remainder of this 144 pg magazine is in very good condition.

I've included a wealth of pictures so you can verify everything in detail and detect issues I may have missed. If you need more, let me know.

Please see the pictures to complete your assessment.

I think I have mentioned everything there is to mention.

If any of the above might be an issue for you or you have doubts, don’t buy!
