Unpatented 20 Acre Placer Mining Claim

Location: Greeley Hill, CA
Mariposa County

Our claim, Indian Rock, is located on the famously rich Bull Creek in the Kinsley Mining District in Mariposa County, California. This district is known for the vast amount of rich quartz veins loaded with Gold which supplies the Creeks and Rivers with an abundance of Placer Gold. The American Mining Rights Association (AMRA) has some of their premier claims a little downstream and have been hosting large events where hundreds of people come to Bull Creek and successfully find good Gold. What we offer is a chance to have your very own claim on the beautiful and famously rich Bull Creek upstream from AMRA, without having to share the gold with hundreds of other miners. Superb 2WD access and plenty of camping options make this a tremendous opportunity to capitalize on the Gold Rush of 2017! Remember folks, this winter brought more water and more erosion than California has seen in the last decade combined! With all of that water comes new opportunity to collect great Gold recently deposited. There is still opportunity as the snow melts higher on the Mountain, which means more flood gold will be brought down.

We affectionately refer to this place as Indian Rock, as bowls carved into the gigantic granite sheets overlooking the creek are in abundance. There is little to wonder as to why this spot was chosen by the native americans to serve as their camp, it is absolutely gorgeous. The view from the time you step out of the car and walk towards the creek expands to include the mountain tops, ridge line, and a clear vantage point of the valley further downstream. From the rock you also are treated to a superb view and relaxing sounds of the creek rushing by. The break in the trees allow for a nice steady breeze that is both felt and heard as the tree tops dance in defiance.

The claim has several deep pools, usually right after a cascading waterfall that has etched its path out of sheer granite bedrock. Nooks and crevices are all around as these giant plates getting from the earth are beaten by the stream. Large rocks and lots of mossy banks both wide and shallow, expanses of stream and light narrow corridors that force the stream back together before opening back up and even separating paths with islands in the middle are throughout the entire claim.

Spending time here in such a pristine and beautiful place let alone pulling gold, sure makes us feel spoiled. This is an area any and all will love and all will be jealous of the memories made here as you and your friends and family become spoiled to.

History:

"JAMESTOWN, Tuolumne County (KPIX 5) — Weeks of rainy weather across Northern California and the storm runoff through the hills of gold country have triggered a new gold rush.
“Miner Gary” Thomas said he always finds at least a little gold here on his property near Jamestown in Tuolumne County, but this year, there’s so much more runoff than normal and it’s shaking the gold from these hills.
Thomas said it could provide a “Eureka” moment for those inclined to come up here and look for it. “(The runoff) kind of ‘etch-a-sketches’ everything,” said Thomas. “Eveything I had dug up and now my dig spots are all gone.”
The known gold digs were washed out, trees uprooted, and landscape eroded. The runoffs have also removed gold out of the old abandoned mines and sent it down the river.“It’s going to bring down more gold,” said Thomas. “It’s going to bring up new areas that I never got to.” Thomas runs tour groups through his property and said now is the optimum time for gold hunting because the storms have just finished churning the landscape.Officials from the Bureau of Land Management say the erosion “concentrates” the gold by removing the lighter rock and soil.
You may be wondering if this reporter found any during our time here. We did find some fine flakes of what they call “flour gold” and it was found more quickly than normal in just a couple of panning sessions. “Eureka!” said Thomas.”That’s hard to do.” But not as hard this year, now that Mother Nature has shaken up the motherlode."

"This winter's flooding in Northern California has done more than bring relief after years of drought; it's created the prospect of the best gold prospecting in 20 years.
Gold hunters in the area tell the Chico Enterprise-Record the floods have "rearranged the rivers" and "move things around." That means gold veins that have been hidden for 200 years are suddenly exposed."

"This belt of country in the vicinity of Bull Creek and the north
of the Merced river has produced millions of dollars and is to-day practically undeveloped. It is like the Quartzburg district, under the baneful eye of the mining expert. The mining intelligence of these professional mineral ferrets could be jobbed into a gnat's eye with a pegging awl, and yet they have with no brains almost hid this county from the mining world."

The beauty here is breathtaking. Remember, this area is only a stone through away from Yosemite. Imagine a gorgeous Green meadow. Dotted with 3 foot plus diameter trees, with expensive views of the ridge line circling around. The sounds are of the water rushing by in Bull Creek and the wind blowing through the many tree tops. Birds chirping and butterflies floating all about. This is truly one of my families and I’s favorite places to spend time.

The National Forestry Spruice did a wonderful job at providing large camping sites with camp fire pits, restrooms, and at lining the roadside that cuts through the meadow with magnificent granite boulders that chisel in even more distinction of the meadows grandeur.

Plenty of camping options, amazing beauty, 2 wheel drive roads that any car, RV, or Camping trailer can easily manage, bathrooms, and even a small coral for those who wish to bring their horses, is what Anderson Flat offers, just a few minutes up the road from the claim.

There is also another large campground downstream. This is the campground that AMRA members stay at and also offers restrooms, and fire pits as well. All campgrounds are US Forestry run and are free.

You can also camp on the claim with the large open flat area.

WHERE CAN I LOCATE A MINING CLAIM?

A mining claim can be located on federal lands (BLM and Forest Service) that are open to mineral location (entry).  If you have a specific location site in mind, you may verify that the lands are open to mineral entry.  This can be accomplished by checking with the BLM State Office Information Access Center (Public Room), who will assist you in determining if the lands are open to mineral entry by checking master title plats, records, files and other pertinent information.

WHAT TYPES OF CLAIMS/SITES ARE THERE?

Placer - All deposits, other than lodes.  These include placer deposits of sand and gravel containing free gold and other minerals.  Placer claims are located by legal subdivision.  An individual may locate up to 20 acres with a maximum of 160 contiguous acres with 8 or more people (an association).   A corporation is consider a single locator. (43 CFR 3842)

Mill Site - Public lands which are non-mineral in character.  Mill Sites may be located in connection with a placer or lode claim for mining and milling purposes or as an independent/custom mill site that is independent of a mining claim.  Mill Sites are located by metes and bounds or legal subdivision and are up to 5 acres in size. (43 CFR 3844)

WHAT MUST I DO TO MAINTAIN A CLAIM?
