VINTAGE TOOL JAPANESE LAMINATED FORGED IRON BLADE NOMI SLICK TROWEL CHISEL Без бренда
Характеристики
Vintage Japanese nomi are truly impressive in the quality of their steel. This exceptional Japanese nomi (chisel) was made over 70 years ago by a master Japanese blade maker in the tradition of the samurai sword with high carbon laminated steel that holds an edge like no other in the world. It is known as a Kote-nomi (trowel chisel). It is a type of push chisel which is especially useful for cleaning up the grooves of sliding dovetail. It was also used for precise paring and finishing of many kinds of wood joinery.
It is made of a hand-forged lamination of white steel and wrought iron. You can actually see the layers of lamination on the blade in the enlarged pictures (see enlarged pictures). The handle is made of Japanese red oak. (see last two pictures)
It has been well used yet well loved and is still razor sharp and, with the exception of some minor oxidation and a deep patina on the Japanese red oak handle, it remains in very fine condition. Overall it measures 11 1/2" long (29.3 cm) with a nice sized nomi blade that is 1 1/8" (2.8 cm) wide. A great sized nomi you will enjoy for a lifetime before passing it on to another generation.
