ANTIQUE EDISON STANDARD CYLINDER PHONOGRAPH WORKING (3) Без бренда
Характеристики
Up for bid is a great antique Edison Standard banner case cylinder phonograph. The exterior case (with the lid installed) measures approximately 13 inches long by 9 inches wide by 12 inches tall. This phonograph has been tested and is in working condition. It is a nice working original that has not been restored, meaning that some adjustments may be needed to get it working properly. Overall the phonograph is in great condition.
The lower exterior shows general light to moderate surface scratching, scuffing, finish wear and general wear throughout. It is generally dirty and dusty throughout and could use a good cleaning. There are some areas of nicking to the wood in various places, which are mainly concentrated around the bottom edge. The scratching, scuffing, finish wear and general wear are heavier along the bottom edge as well. The banner decal on the front shows general wear throughout but is overall in great condition. The wood bottom of the case looks to be separating slightly from the back side as there is a slight gap along the lower back side edge. This could easily be repaired if desired.
The lid is overall in great condition. It shows general light to moderate surface scratching, scuffing and wear throughout. There are some spots of heavier scuffing and wear along the sides, edges and corners. These areas could likely be cleaned to improve the appearance with some effort. The finish is generally dirty and dusty throughout and could use a good cleaning. There are some areas of minor white paint residue along the edges and sides in places that could likely be cleaned off with some effort. The original handle is present on the top of the lid and is in great condition. The interior of the lid is generally dirty throughout and shows general wear throughout. There are some spots of very minor veneer peeling starting to occur along the sides, corners and edges.
The bedplate is overall in great condition. The black paint on the top of the bedplate is in great condition with general light scratching, scuffing and wear throughout. There is a spot on the front left side where the paint has worn through to the metal below. Most of the original pinstriping has worn off and is no longer present. A small amount remains. All of the parts and pieces are present on the top of the bedplate. The reproducer has not been rebuilt, so it may need some work and/or adjustment to work properly. The mandrel shows general moderate to heavy surface scratching, scuffing and wear throughout. The gear cover shows areas where the paint has worn through to the metal below. The paint on the gear cover is also starting to flake moderately along the edges.
The interior mechanism is in great condition. It is generally greasy and dirty throughout and could use a good cleaning. The mechanism has not been rebuilt, so some adjustment and cleaning will likely be needed to get it working properly. The motor starts right up when the start/stop brake is engaged. The interior spring holds tension when it is cranked. All of the parts and pieces are present on the interior mechanism. The four corner securing brackets are missing from the interior corners of the case. The bottom of the interior of the case is very dirty throughout with caked on grease as well. It could use a good cleaning. A few of the parts on the lower mechanism show light surface rusting that could likely be cleaned off with some effort.
A crank is included with the phonograph. I believe it is a reproduction. It shows general light to moderate surface scratching, scuffing and wear throughout. There is no horn included, but replacements and reproductions can be found easily.
