Big Boy Restaurants originally started as Bob's Pantry in 1936 by Bob Wian in Glendale, California. The chain was set up as regional franchises, and had names like Bob's Big Boy, Bob's Hamburgers, Bob's, Bob's Drive-in, etc.
Marriott bought the chain in 1967, and in turn, sold it to the largest franchise holder, the Elias Brothers in 1987. The company went bankrupt in 2000. It was then sold to Robert Liggett and now called Big Boy International.
This is a vinyl doll, which doubles as a durable bank made as a symbol of the Big Boy Restaurant. It is still unopened in its original package. It measures 9" tall.
On the bottom of the foot, as pictured, is stated, "A product of Big Boy Restaurants of America Marriott 1973". Marriott owned the chain for 20 years when this doll was made. It was made in the U.S.A.
Shipping for this nice, rare doll will be only $6.00 anywhere in the U.S.
