Original Old Engravings Set of 4: Howitt "Hare Hunting" Published 1799 Framed.  Set of four prints from England numbered No.1 Published April 10, 1799, No. 2 Pub. ? 7, 1798, No. 3 Pub. Aug 7, 1798 and No. 4 Pub. Jan 7 1799.  The frames measure 11 1/4" x 13 1/2".   The actual prints are 6" x 8".   I do not know if these prints are from 1798 or 1812.   They are definitely not new prints.   I got them at an auction, and the current framing is at least 50 years old.   I've removed the hangers for shipping.   If the glass breaks during shipping, I will refund $5 per glass broken.

Notes

From Samuel Howitt's The British Sportsman, first published in 1798-1800, republished in 1812.

Samuel Howitt (1756 - 1822) was an English painter, illustrator and etcher of animals, hunting, horse-racing and landscape scenes. He was the brother-in-law of Thomas Rowlandson. From around 1791, Howitt produced sporting prints, a few of which he published himself, but mostly he worked for other publishers. He was also active from 1801-1805 as a publisher of caricatures, many of which he etched himself under the pseudonym of Giles Grinagain.
