This auction is for one new Trolley Dodger Records audio CD with a total playing time of 61:59. These are vintage recordings, originally released on LPs #02 and 25 by the long-gone Railroad Record Club of Hawkins, Wisconsin in the 1950s and 60s. They have been digitally remastered using the best equipment and techniques. This CD comes with the original liner notes for each LP.
The disc features audio recordings made between 1953 and 1955 of the Potomac Edison (Hagerstown & Frederick) electric interurban, and Capital Transit streetcars.
Record #06:
Potomac Edison Co. Both "on train" and trackside recordings of interurbans 171 and 172. Locomotives No. 12 and Box Motor No. 5 complete the sound picture of this line. Compressors, motor whine, air horns and rail crossing clatter.
Record #27:
Capital Transit Co. Conventional car No. 766 on route 20, Cabin John line, in city streets and on private right-of-way. Many trackside scenes of PCCs in the street, at the plow pits and on p-r-w. The clatter of brakes, snap of switches, and ringing of warning bells.
