Our Red Wool Sleeved Waistcoat with Blue Cuffs is patterned after the 1754 uniform of the Virginia Regiment who served under young George Washington at the Battle of Jumonville Glen and Fort Necessity. The same or very similar uniforms were worn by several American (British) provincial units during the French & Indian War including the Maryland Regiment. It can also be worn as a sleeved waistcoat in combination with a regimental coat in cooler weather.

Made of period construction, the wool body is unlined for comfort, closes at the front with large white metal buttons, and comes complete with false pockets and blue cuffs. (Optional mariner's cuff flaps and buttons are supplied with the coat in case they are desired.) This Sleeved Waistcoat may be modified for use with other uniforms of the French & Indian War and Revolutionary War periods including uniforms of British, French, Spanish, or American origin.
