This sale is for all 4 pieces in one lot. Includes 2 reproduction lead/graphite pencils (one wood body, one large "mechanical" has brass body), one reproduction wooden with metal nib ink pen and a packet of powdered ink. The brass pencil is double ended!
See photos for details and condition of all. Packet of ink does show some wear and age and I am not sure if it is 100% full as bought new but there is still plenty of powdered ink in it. Ink was bought from Jas. Townsend a well known vendor of colonial reproductions. This company still sells the pencil graphite inserts for the pencil bodies ($1.50 ea), it no longer sells the powdered ink. The brass mechanical large pencil alone sells for $40 new and a write up says it dates back to circa 1680!
I used the double ended pencil to write the note seen in photos. Other pencil is empty. Bands on pencil ends slide back to open for refills to be put in, then ring slides back towards end to keep refill in place.
If YOU are someone who takes their historical impression to heart and wants to have the complete look, this set is a must!
These make a great conversation piece for any reenactor, museum or classroom history discussion!
All items are reproductions of great quality!
